*JAPAN – Kansai International Airport in Osaka has now opened a Lotte Duty Free shop, the second of only two foreign companies to have a Duty Free presence in Japan. It will mainly sell Korean products such as  Sulwhasoo, Laneige and The History of Whoo, red ginseng products and South Korean tobacco brands. *KOREA – Lotte Duty Free is now waiting on the final approval for the saftey inspections for the opening of Phase 1 of it’s Lotte World Tower. After opening it will be shutting down it’s Duty Free sales in the nearby Lotte World Hotel. The reason for the new opening is to attract more Chinese customers with a more spacious shopping experience and with a nicer atmosphere. For more information please follow this link.

*GUAM – Travel retailer DFS has renewed its legal battle against the award of an airport duty free concession to South Korean rival Lotte Duty Free, which has already started trading at Guam’s AB Won Pat International Airport. For more information please follow this link.

*Dufry has concluded the acquisition of The Nuance Group based on a consideration of CHF1.55 billion (US$1.66 billion), on a debt- and cash-free basis.
